With the repeated use of the term globalization in mass media the concept has become a household word and has entered into our daily vocabulary. This term is used in many different ways. The concept of globalization is typically used in a sales and marketing context. Generally, globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations; a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world. In other words, globalization means the worldwide movement toward economic, financial, trade, communications and ideas in one global marketplace. Under globalization, people around the world are more connected to each other than before and information and money flow more quickly than former. Of course, globalization is not new. For thousands of years, people - and later, corporations - have been buying from and selling to each other in lands at great distances, such as through the famed Silk Road across Central Asia that connected China and Europe during the Middle Ages. But today globalization is farther, faster, cheaper, and deeper and its impacts to the world is mainly different from the previous.
